Just as John Laws, the man who set him up in radio retires, John Burgess is back, on Nine Radio’s 6PR Sunday afternoons between 12-4pm.
Burgess, who is 81, has worked in radio across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth before stepping back after contracting sepsis in 2022. His first radio role, at 2UW (now KIIS 106.5) was in 1967!
Burgo, as he’s affectionately known, also was the long running host of Wheel of Fortune and Catch Phrase.
Mornings presenter Gary Adshead received an ACRA for this station this weekend, winning Best Podcast by a Radio Show for his The Reporter: True Stories.
