Jon Faine celebrates 20 years of Mornings

This Friday, Jon Faine celebrates two decades of broadcasting the Morning Program on 774 ABC Melbourne and 28 years since joining the ABC.

To mark this milestone, Faine’s last radio show for 2016 will be a live broadcast party, from 8.30am at the MPavilion on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.

Featuring great live music with Casey Bennetto and Deborah Conway and program regulars and favourites from the past 2 decades with terrific tales of Jon’s early days including former 3LO Breakfast presenter and ABC Manager Susan Howard.

A celebrated broadcaster, for 2 decades Jon Faine has been leading debate on the big issues in Victoria, delivering thought-provoking radio with his quick wit and willingness to ask the stickiest of questions.

After seven years as a lawyer, Jon entered radio broadcasting in 1989 to produce and present Radio National’s Law Report. He then presented 3LO’s Morning and Afternoon programs, worked on ABC TV’s Investigators, First Edition and Wise UP and has been presenting the Morning program on 774 ABC Melbourne since 1997.

Each weekday morning from 8.30am, be it politics, finance, health, law, arts or sport, Jon investigates the issues and stories affecting Melbourne with energy and vigour – all without taking life too seriously.
