Jon Vertigan marks 30 years on radio

Jon Vertigan has marked thirty years in radio, having spent most of his career working throughout regional Victoria, as well as stints in Melbourne and Sydney.

He says says he wouldn’t swap what he does for quids, “Starting at Swan Hill feels like a lifetime ago. I’ve made so many lifelong friendships along the way.”

The son of Melbourne radio great and former 3UZ personality John Vertigan, he now co-hosts the Breakfast Show on Melbourne’s Easy Music 3MP with his good mate Julie Strini, and is married to Kelli and with two teenage children.

Jon recently confided that he has the ‘breakfast’ part of the breakfast radio routine down pat, starting each morning with his signature protein shake.

“Protein powder, a banana, a little bit of cinnamon and some oat milk. Whack it in the Thermomix for forty seconds with some ice and a little bit of water, and I find that if I have that during the seven o’clock news – it’s really good. It keeps me full until lunchtime and it’s yummy.”
