Gold 101.7‘s Jonesy and Amanda have announced that rumours of a move to Drive are true.

They told listeners this morning: “We could have stayed doing breakfast for years. We’ve never fought the hours. We’ve spent twenty years with you guys, and this is the thing. We’re going to drag you kicking and screaming with us to drive. We want to build a show that you’re going to love.”

The news apparently wasn’t going to be announced until later but with media publications, including radioinfo, getting wind of the changes (see our article from yesterday), Jonesy and Amanda wanted to address it on air rather than as a surprise to the listeners.

They also had fun with the perrennial confusion over use of the hyphen in the words re-signed and resigned.

The replacement on breakfast is thought to be Christian O’Connell who will network to Melbourne and Sydney.
