Jono & Dano show to go

After three years hosting their networked Drive show, Jonathan ‘Jono’ Coleman & Ian ‘Dano’ Rogerson will bid the Classic Hits listeners farewell at the end of 2011. The MCM produced program currently airs on 32 radio stations across Australia including ARN’s Classic Hits Network: WS FM Sydney, GOLD FM Melbourne and 4KQ Brisbane but will finish up next month.

The show has been a solid performer for ARN. Monday’s Survey 7 results showed the boys holding their own in all three eastern seaboard metro markets.

Jono and Dano say: “This year marked thirty years of Jono and Dano. It’s been huge fun. However we think it’s time for a new challenge while we still have our youthful charm and good looks. See you all in 2012!”

MCM Entertainment Group CEO, Simon Joyce says, “The last three years have delivered many highlights, from taking the show to the royal wedding to forming a lobby group to fight for family time with a campaign slogan ‘Bring Back the Schnitzel’. We look forward to exploring future opportunities together.”

ARN Group Program Director, Duncan Campbell thanked the boys for their contribution and says the door is open for MCM to come up with something new for 2012.

If MCM does not have another offering of interest to ARN then the network may benefit financially from bringing the show back in house next year. ARN gave MCM 4 minutes per hour of advertising in the program, which, if it can develop its own successful in house team, could go back to ARN’s bottom line.

It is not known at this time whether MCM will offer an alternative drive show in 2012 to the many regional stations which took the Jono and Dano program.

The Jono & Dano Show will continue on Classic Hits until Friday, 2 December 2011.
