Kids’ Campaign raises record $170 000+

92.5 Gold FM’s ‘Give Me Five For Kids’ campaign has smashed all records, raising in excess of $170 000 for the kids at the Gold and Tweed Coast hospitals.

Gold FM breakfast team, Richard and Sarah, kick started the campaign, auctioning off outside broadcasts ‘live’ on air to Gold Coast businesses, which dug deep to support the local hospitals.

Richard (Fowler), says: “the first week was huge! I can’t believe how much the community, especially businesses, paid for us! The support we received was just amazing!”

Along with the OBs, 92.5 Gold FM also auctioned special ‘money can’t buy’ experiences with Richard and Sarah, reduced fuel prices at IFS service stations each Friday morning, held a Give Me 5 For Kids bingo night and finished it all off with the ‘Kids Day Out in the Park’, its way of saying thank you to the community.

92.5 Gold FM Program Director, Jason Matthews, is astounded by the public support for the Give Me 5 For Kids Appeal: “We smashed all our own records, making it bigger and better than previous years. It was only with the support of the Gold Coast that we were able to achieve this huge result for the kids at the Gold and Tweed Coast hospitals.”

The Kids Day Out in the Park attracted more than 5000 people to Broadbeach. From 10am-4pm, Kurawa Park was transformed into a kids’ playground, with jumping castles, pony rides, face painting, the Rugrats, Goldie the Clown and clown school.

Parents were also entertained with performances by Miranda Murphy, Mercury 4, Rob Mills, plus the ‘Fairytale Star’ Pantomime featuring the entire Gold FM on air team, Channel 9 personalities Steven and Richard from The Block and David Whitehill from Hot Source.

According to Fairy Godmother (Richard Fowler), the day was huge!
