Kids in Kontrol at 92.7 Mix FM on the Sunshine Coast

Last weekend, as part of 92.7 MIX FM’s Give Me Five for Kids Annual Appeal for the local Children’s Ward, MIX FM Announcers took the long weekend off and put the ‘Kids In Kontrol’ on The Sunshine Coast.

The ‘new crew’ consisted of staff, client and listeners children, keen to try out their hand as Radio Announcers and host an hour of the show. They were kept busy, no slacking off for the youngsters, with their duties including everything from playing the music to informing Mix FM listeners about the appeal and its upcoming events. In total, the ‘Kids in Kontrol’ featured four recorded breaks each…..now how’s that for a show and tell story!

As the whole month is about the kids, next week 92.7 MIX FM will also be adding ‘Give Me Five for Kids TV’ to their website, with the kids hosting a ‘kids news’
Again focusing on events from the Give Me Five for Kids calendar.

Assistant PD, Ryan Khay told radioinfo, “This fundraiser is all about the kids, so we thought, let’s get them involved as much as possible. This is the next, next generation of
potential Commercial Radio Announcers, and there is some great little talent that will make their debut over the weekend. In fact, I think some of the kids have their eyes on our jobs!”

MIX FM’s Give Me Five for Kids, continues all June with the hope to top last years tally of over $200,000 raised for Nambour Hospitals Children’s Ward, and after the first week, it’s looking good!
