KIIS 97.3 Brisbane‘s Robin, Kip & Corey teamed up with Area 51 to host a special Superpower Squad event on Monday, bringing together local children for an afternoon of fun, friendship and connection.

The event gave the children and their parents the opportunity to connect with peers and new support networks toward navigating the issue of bullying.

The initiative followed on-air conversations and community discussion led by Robin, Kip & Corey about the impact of bullying on young Australians. The story of 11-year-old Brisbane boy Connor prompted questions to the Queensland Education Minister about anti-bullying policies and support for students.

The Superpower Squad event was supported by charity partners Bullyproof Australia and Kids Helpline, with Bullyproof Ambassador and former professional boxer Jeff Horn attending and Australian Idol contestant Asher Iyer, who has previously spoken about his own experiences with bullying, performing.

In a heart-warming moment, Connor attended the event and spent the afternoon meeting new friends and enjoying the activities alongside other children and their families. Since changing schools, Connor has been thriving, with his story continuing to inspire important conversations around bullying and the need for stronger support systems for young people.
