It seems that South Africa has declared open season on Aussies. Having demolished our cricket team, they’re now after our radio personalities as one Darren “Whackhead” Simpson, a jock from Johannesberg served it up to 2Day’s dynamic duo.

Kyle and Jackie’s producer received an email last week from the production company that made Valkyrie saying they could speak with Tom Cruise this week to promote the film. Kyle and Jackie and the team were obviously very excited about it and had hyped the interview up all morning.

When the call came through, they quickly realised that it wasn’t Tom Cruise when “Whackhead” revealed that it was all a prank. He had set up the email address and been liaising back and forth with their producer last week to set it up.

The plan was hatched as revenge for Kyle and Jackie having played one of Whackhead’s phone pranks that went wrong last year.

He said, “You’ve just been phone scammed, it’s not Tom Cruise. You played one of my pranks a little while ago and you said I wasn’t too good. Do you know how much preparation I put into this scam?”

Far from being upset, Kyle and Jackie were very impressed by the prank and Kyle said, “You’ve done it well! You’ve fooled us all, I think it’s hilarious. Well done.”
