The 8th radio ratings survey results for 2024 have just been released, the last for the year.
The Highlights:
- It must be Christmas time… Elf Radio is back on DAB+
- Olympics downturn washes out from 2GB, which gains 2 share points
- WSFM drops from top spot in Sydney
- Fordham regains breakfast crown from K&J
- Smooth tops Sydney, second in Melbourne for overall share.
- Hadley’s ratings rise in his final survey
- ABC Radio Sydney drops amidst controversial changes
- Nova 100 tops cumes, Jase and Lauren most listened to breakfast show
- New leader in Adelaide as Triple M overtakes Mix
- The jostling at the top of the Perth market continues as Nova gains first place from 96FM. Nova, 96fm and Mix have all had a few number ones this year in Perth.
- Smooth DAB+ gains ground from Coles as it goes down down in some markets
The survey was conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia between Sun Sept 22 to Sat Nov 30 2004, which included the footy grand final.
Commercial radio has 12.3m Australians tuning in each week, with time spent listening at work growing by one hour and 20 minutes to 12 hours and 28 minutes and time spent listening at home growing 18 minutes to 10 hours and one minute.
Next year, the final survey results announcement will change, with future Survey 8 results being released in January the following year. See our previous report.
