Nova stations 1,2 & 3, Nova 100’s Jase and Lauren the most listened to breakfast show – GfK Survey 8, 2024

It has taken Nova 100 and their breakfast team of Jase and Lauren nine months to do what ARN and Kyle and Jackie O hoped to do, and sit atop the Melbourne FM radio ratings. They are now the most listened to station, and Jase and Lauren have the most breakfast listeners for their Melbourne show.

To make the achievement even sweeter for the Nova Network, they have the two most listened to stations in Melbourne, Nova 100 and smooth 91.5 and smooth 95.3 Sydney is outright No 1 stations, and in cumulative listening.

NOVA Entertainment CEO Peter Charlton said:

“Today I am incredibly proud of our teams across the country. We have rounded out 2024 with the most listeners of any metro network in every survey this year, including Survey 8 where 6.4 million Australians tuned in.  To have the top three most listened to stations in the country with Nova 100, Smooth FM 95.3 and Smooth 91.5 respectively, is an astounding achievement and a testament to the loyal and growing relationships we foster with our listeners.

We look ahead to 2025 with excitement and optimism as we continue to innovate on our All of Audio offering, providing market-leading audiences and commercial opportunities.”

The other big winners for listeners tuning back in were 2GB Sydney and Triple M Sydney and Melbourne. Rosie, Will and Daisy, an interim breakfast lineup for much of this year after Marty Sheargold resigned, have gone from strength to strength and this bodes well for another competitor in the Melbourne market.

Surprising was the drop in listeners to SCA’s 101.9 The Fox in Melbourne. Less surprising however are the losses for ABC Radio Sydney with significant changes to their lineups in 2025.

Kyle and Jackie O, and KIIS 1065 both saw gains in Sydney. Overall they are still the most listened to pair in the country but have yet to win over Melbourne.
