Local school to win overnight zoo excursion with 666 ABC Canberra

One local ACT primary school class will have the opportunity to win a unique overnight stay at Taronga Zoo in Sydney with 666 ABC Canberra’s ZoosnooZ competition from next week.

The competition, hosted by Breakfast presenter Philip Clark, invites year five and six primary children to enter by writing an interesting and creative story about their favourite nocturnal animal in 500 words or less.

The winning class from the ACT and surrounding region will win an overnight excursion to Taronga Zoo, Sydney in November, including return coach transport to Taronga Zoo, overnight ZoosnooZ sleeping facilities, a ‘behind-the-scenes’ walk through the zoo and animal encounter, a lesson in the Education Centre, and a BBQ dinner and breakfast.

Taronga Zoo’s ZoosnooZ is a unique sleepover experience and a great way for students to learn about animals and the environment.

Clark says he is “looking forward to reading the entries from local school kids” and wants to hear the reactions of the winning class as they rise to the warbles, rumbles, squeaks, growls and roars of the zoo animals greeting the day in November.

The competition is open from Monday 3 – Friday 14 August 2015.
