Macquarie Media redundancies effective immediately: Bowd and Boylen gone

As foreshadowed earlier this week on radioinfo, there is a shake up of management positions taking place inside the newly formed Macquarie Media company.

A memo to staff today from Chief Operating Officer Adam Lang says a review of the company’s operating structure has resulted in three senior level redundancies, with Paul Bowd, Martin Boylen and Ben Roberts all leaving the company immediately.

The memo says:

Following a review of Macquarie Media’s operating structures, I advise that, effective immediately the roles of Operations Director Perth and Operations Director Sydney have been made redundant. As a consequence Martin Boylen and Paul Bowd will leave our business immediately.

The position of National Research Director based in Perth has also been made redundant and Ben Roberts will also be leaving the business immediately. I want to thank Martin, Paul and Ben for their dedication and service and wish each of them every success in their future endeavours.

Over the next two weeks, Russell Tate will be talking to all Macquarie Media staff covering the Company’s half year financial results announced this week and plans and imperatives for the year ahead, including Company structure, roles and reporting. I will send out detailed Organisation charts and reporting lines next week. In the meantime Paul Bowd’s direct reports will report directly to me and Martin Boylen’s to John Solvander.
