According to reliable sources, the entire announcing staff at Magic1278 Melbourne has been let go.
Currently, Mike Brady is filling the Afternnon/Drive shift with anyone’s guess who will be on air after 7pm. In the longer term, the station is likely to be streamed in from 4BH in Brisbane or 2CH in Sydney with fill-in announcers from this afternoon.
Announcers along with much of the production staff were told that they would be no longer needed by Program Director Clark Forbes this morning.
It is understood, however, that Jane Holmes has survived the cut and will be redeployed in another capacity.

Replacing the best songs of all time with news and talk, from another state - I don't think so. So long good friends at Magic. All the best for whatever you are able to do in the future. Not much else to choose from on the radio dial in Melbourne these days.
What an absolute disgrace. A great radio station ruined. I will be looking for a new station to listen to.
