Management changes at 3AK/MP

DCL, the company which owns 3AK and 3MP, has sacked key executives Jeff Chatfield and Craig Lovelady as part of changes brought about at a board meeting last week.

The Company has announced the appointment of Peter Quattro
to the board of directors. Quattro has “substantial advertising,
radio & broadcasting operational experience” and is Chief Executive Officer of the Quattro Group of companies which includes an Advertising Agency and TV Production Company.

Chatfield and Lovelady were employed through a management agreement with their company Advent Television Ltd, which was terminated at the board meeting. An official statement dryly stated:

“Consequently, Mr R J Chatfield is no longer acting as the Company’s Managing Director. Mr Chatfield remains a non-executive director. Furthermore, Mr C Lovelady is no longer acting as either the Company Secretary or the Chief Financial Officer.”

John Karantzis, a director of the Company and the CEO of the
Company’s subsidiary Commcord Communications Pty Ltd, has been
appointed the Company’s interim Chief Operating Officer.

Leon Duval has been appointed interim Company Secretary and Chief
Financial Officer, while Ron Hall, a director of the Company, has been appointed interim Chief Operating Officer.

“It is the Company’s intention to seek a permanent, suitably qualified
and experienced radio station COO in the near term.”

Board meetings may get a little hot with ousted Jeff Chatfield still entitled to take his seat in the board room due to his major shareholding in the company. The board now consists of Peter Quattro, Ron Hall, John Karantzis and Chatfield.

Board Members are “currently liaising with people who possess proven
radio experience, knowledge and contacts to ensure that DCL will very
soon start to regain its rightful place in the Melbourne radio arena.”

“The Board Members are enthusiastic, inspired and looking forward to
working together to restore DCL to its rightful place in Melbourne –
on top of the ratings.”
