Mark Duffield joins SEN WA

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has secured West Australian sports journalist, Mark Duffield at SEN WA.

Duffield, who previously held the position of Chief Football Writer at The West Australian, will host a weekly morning program from 8am – 10am Monday to Wednesday.

The program, beginning on November 7, will focus on news, opinion, key guests, interviews, talkback and the topics that matter to the WA sporting landscape.

It will be heard on 657 AM in Perth; on SEN WA on the SEN appSENSpirit 621 AM in Bunbury; SEN Goldfields 1611 AM in Kalgoorlie; and SEN Peel in the Mandurah region.

Duffield also assumes the hosting role of Inspiring Sports Stories on 657 AM and the SEN app in 2023. The program celebrates the lives of WA sports greats and provides a rare insight into their contributions and journey through a WA sporting lens.

SEN Chief Executive Officer Craig Hutchison said he is delighted to add someone of Duffield’s experience to the SEN WA airwaves.

WA has been craving an agenda shaping morning sports show and ‘Duff’ is the single most influential journalist in football and sport in the state,’ Hutchison said.

Listeners can expect to hear plenty of opinion and insights with the program covering all aspects of WA sport, whether it be the West Coast Eagles, Fremantle Dockers, our very own Perth Wildcats or local community sport stories.

Whether it be our SEN stations across the state, our SEN and Wildcats apps, or via digital video on our social channels – SEN is committed to connecting you to WA sports content each and every day.”

WA Commercial Director Lachlan Smith also expressed his delight.

We are fiercely committed to local content here in WA and we welcome ‘Duff’ to the SEN WA family,” Smith said.

And with Goss and Scotty starting each day with a bang from 6am and then “Duff” to build on the agenda from 8am, our audiences are in the best of hands – as are our local clients, who we are committed to telling their stories locally each day.”

Duffield said he is looking forward to taking on the new challenge.

I am so excited to join the SEN team. I have always loved radio and when Craig approached me to do this show it felt right straight away. I can’t wait to get started in November.”
