Massive 92.9 Kids Appeal with Telethon to conclude in heart-warming fashion

Lisa, Paul & Baz of the 92.9 breakfast team will wrap up the hugely successful, two-week Kids Appeal with Telethon by broadcasting live from the foyer of the Princess Margaret Hospital, for which they’ve already raised $140,577.

With face painters, balloon twisters and Fat Cat in town, the team will give their record-breaking sum one last push, by convincing the generous Perth public to call in with donations. The money raised will be used to purchase equipment for the hospital, including walking aids, wheelchairs and machinery.

The Kids Appeal has encompassed a range of events, from a Comedy Night to AFL stars auctioning their time – but perhaps most impressively a world radio first, when Lisa and Paul broadcasted live from specially customised bicycles as they rode around Perth and beyond in K’s for Kids. The pair rode a kilometre for every $100 raised that morning, and ended in Mandurah with the hospital $9000 better off.

The entire Perth community has gotten behind the two-week appeal, with the phones ringing constantly. Lisa, Paul & Baz were particularly touched by the amount of children calling in to offer their pocket money.

The 92.9 breakfast team will broadcast live from the PMH foyer on Friday morning from 6-9am, and will conclude the program with a cheque for the total amount raised being handed over to the Telethon General Manager Steve Mummery.
