Life FM Adelaide’ s Mary-Anne ‘Maz’ Maio recently returned from a historic tour of Greece with a group of passionate listeners, all in the name of deepening their faith by walking in the footsteps of Apostle Paul, one of the most instrumental figures in early Christianity.
The 9-day tour saw the group visit Greece and Turkey and step back in time at some of the most ancient sites mentioned in the Bible, including Corinth, Patmos, Ephesus, Philippi and Athens, whilst documenting their travels online and through the airwaves, to allow the audience in Adelaide to walk alongside them.
Maz, who’s been hosting and producing Drive at the station since July 2024, said:
“Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would be tapped on the shoulder and asked to travel to GREECE for ‘ work’ (in radio!).
At the end of 2024, I had nearly finished a pretty full on year of full-time study in Event Management, and was offered a role as Fundraising Events Manager at Life FM alongside my on-air position, and the Greece trip was also mentioned, though I must admit I had to pinch myself and was hesitant to believe it would actually come to fruition, as it just seemed so left of centre at the time! This experience was such a blessing and one I’ll always hold close to my heart.”
Life FM Operations and Fundraising Manager, Lorrene McClymont added:
“To be SA’s largest Christian ministry isn’t lost on us, and while only a few could actually make the physical journey to Greece, this trip, like all we do, was designed with our mission in mind to open the door to faith where it may be closed for some, and deepen the faith of those who are already on the journey. Hopefully the fruits of this trip (in deepening faith) will be revealed in time.
“In very little contexts is an experience like this possible, and we knew we needed to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to our listeners – those who were able to physically take part and those who were listening from Adelaide but still able to have their faith deepened.”
Life FM prides itself on being deeply passionate about reaching those who may be struggling, offering encouragement, and providing a fresh, uplifting perspective, and a positive alternative.
Another trip to Greece, In the Footsteps of Paul the Apostle, will take place in October 2026.
