Wrapping up their first year on air together Triple M Sydney’s Breakfast team of Beau, Cat & Woodsy spent their final morning broadcasting live in the pouring rain from a red double-decker bus delivering gifts and Christmas magic to families doing it tough this festive season.

For the Triple M Christmas Convoy Aaron “Woodsy” Woods made a mighty fine Santa, and celebrity guests including The Wiggles joined them as the bus made its way from Mount Annan to Eagle Vale. The convoy proudly supports the work of The Salvation Army and their Christmas Appeal, which provides both immediate relief and long-term support to people who have nowhere else to turn.

Over the past few weeks, Triple M listeners nominated loved ones in need. Each family received a bundle of tailored gifts, with the Convoy delivering everything from toys, art sets and scooters, to boogie boards, Taronga Zoo passes, tutoring support, gardening help, and a year of lawn-mowing. There were bigger surprises too – including a $2,000 cash cheque thanks to Best Sheds, a once-in-a-lifetime Music In Paradise experience worth $10k, and a trip for family of four to the Magic Round in Brisbane thanks to the NRL.

Beau, Cat and Woodsy said:

“We wanted to do something that actually makes a difference. Christmas can be incredible, but it can also be incredibly hard. We’re hoping to bring some laughs and a little magic to families who need it most, whether financially, due to illness, or anything life has thrown at them this year.”

Teaming up with The Salvation Army felt like a no-brainer – they want to help people and so do we. If we can rock up in a big red bus with a giant cheque and Woodsy in a Santa suit to make someone’s day then we’re going to do it!”

For the past three Fridays, Woodsy has also been popping up at Sydney malls and train stations, broadcasting live with The Salvation Army and helping boost awareness for their Christmas Appeal.
