Merrick and Rosso re-sign with DMG

Nova 96.9 breakfast hosts Merrick Watts and Tim Ross will return to Nova 96.9 to present breakfast in 2007.

Radio executives often talk about shows having a five year lifespan; Merrick and Rosso will be back for their seventh year hosting breakfast on Nova’s Sydney outlet.

2006 wasn’t Merrick and Rosso’s best year ratings-wise, having being knocked off from #1 FM by Austereo’s Kyle and Jackie O, and ranking fifth in the latest Nielsen survey behind 2GB, 2Day FM, ABC702, and 2UE.

In the last surveyed show for the year, Watts this morning revealed the pair had nevertheless decided to stay with the network.

Insiders report Tim Ross had been making extra appearances on various television programs in the past few weeks because “it’s that time of the year again.”
