Grant Denyer puts him through an 8G challenge

Triple M’s Merrick Watts has taken to the skies to fulfill a challenge set by Channel Seven’s Grant Denyer.

Denyer, who famously passed out live on TV flying at 8G’s in a stunt plane, challenged Merrick to try and stay awake whilst doing the same speeds.

Not only did Merrick survive the massive 8G acceleration, he did it twice! The Red Bull pilot had never seen anyone attempt this – nor had he seen anyone stay conscious during two attempts.

“I’m Grant Denyer and anything I can do, Mez can do better,” he boasted.

Merrick says,” It was painful, the second time around it felt like I was hit by a wall. If you have a look at the video it’s all laughs with the flying part but then we pull the 8Gs …no more laughs then.”
