MGM and Musicpoint to promote independent Aussie Music

Musicpoint is joining forces with MGM
Distribution to deliver new Australian music directly to radio stations across Australia.

Metropolitan Groove Merchants [MGM Distribution], established in April 1998, is an
independent distributor of CD’s and music related merchandise. They have secured a
dedicated home page on Musicpoint, which will enable them to better promote their
independent, and in particular Australian, music to broadcasters and radio.

Musicpoint, Australian owned and created, is a web-based aggregated service for major and
independent record companies to deliver their new music releases directly to radio stations
across Australia.

Musicpoint, launched in December 2002, now delivers more than 7,000
songs per month to over 600 radio stations around the country. Record companies deliver
their new music, artist’s profiles and priority songs, along with Selector integration and “Video
on Demand”, directly to radio stations in a secure digital format.

Director of MGM Distribution, Sebastian Chase, tells radioinfo :

“I think Musicpoint is a fantastic tool
that makes it really easy for music programmers to become familiar with the huge variety of
great music that local artists are producing”.

Musicpoint encourages users to access MGM’s dedicated page of releases and indeed all
Independent releases via the “View Independent Release” tab.

Radio industry veteran and Musicpoint Managing Director, Keith Williams, says: “98%
of all radio stations in Australia now subscribe to Musicpoint, so it is fitting that they have this
exposure to the quality and increasing number of independent releases.”
