Mix 101.1’s Des Dowling, Lawrence Mooney and Michelle Van Ray present their last breakfast show this morning in Melbourne.

On the back of poor ratings, it was announced last month that the trio would not return next year.

ARN General Manager, Steve Smith, says: “We live and die by ratings and, unfortunately, after a period of two years, we weren’t able to lift the breakfast ratings high enough to keep going.

“Loz, Michelle and Des have put in a fantastic effort to try to make it work but, unfortunately, it hasn’t turned out as well as expected.”

Mix is not rushing to find a new breakfast team, opting to play music from Monday.
