Mix 102.3 give terminally ill boy a day to remember

8 year old Sammy Scully was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an inoperable brain tumour, in January 2023. It is his dream to be a police officer. This week Mix102.3’s Max & Ali in the Morning, some celebrity friends, SAPOL and even the Premier of South Australia Peter Malinauskas helped make Sammy’s dream come true.

Mix 102.3 and SAPOL made Sammy a police officer for the day, helping to solve crime in Adelaide’s CBD, some of which involved big name perpetrators like singer-songwriter Guy Sebastian, Adelaide Crows’ ruckman Reilly O’Brien, cricketer Alex Carey, Simon from The Wiggles, Mitch and Mark from The Block, Charlie Grant from the Matildas and both the Crows and Port Adelaide captains.

SA Premier Peter Malinauskas issued a ‘Stop Work’ order between 12:30pm and 1:30pm, inviting South Australians to Rundle Mall to cheer on Sammy’s mission of arresting the three celebrity criminals.
