Today Mix 106.3 Canberra has rebranded to KIDS 106.3 for a 24-Hour Radiothon for Give Me 5 (GM5) raising funds for sick kids in hospital. Donations are already beyond $25K.
Breakfast presenters Kristen & Nige kicked things off in balmy -5 degree temps at the ACT Fire and Rescue Training Centre raising $10,000 via completing a Firies fitness course (let’s just say this was significantly harder for Nige). Then they announced the release of A Hospital Hero’s Guide to Canberra (pictured) written with Canberrans for the little humans. Copies of the book are on sale at the Canberra Hospital Foundation Gift Shop or via mix106.com.au with all funds also going to GM5. The book is set to be turned into a mural at the hospital.
A Hospital Hero’s Guide to Canberra has some very special forwards:
Pat Griffin and Larry Appley will also be on air and taking donations across today with a few special guests popping in and, with a Canberra Raiders game on tonight, the Raiders on KIDS 106.3 team will take over from 7pm and keep things going into the night.
