Mix102.3 spreads some sunshine amidst the heartbreak

This is what real, live and local radio does best…

Last Friday morning Mix1023’s breakfast duo Jodie & Soda unveiled a special tribute garden for Adelaide resident Kerry Briggs, a 37-year-old mother of two with stage 4 breast cancer.

While hosting a Flinders Foundation event last month, Soda first heard the story of Kerry’s battle with cancer.

A few weeks later Kerry was given the devastating news, her cancer had spread and is now incurable. Kerry is now in palliative care and will not return home.

When Kerry’s husband David spoke with Jodie & Soda he mentioned how he would love to create a tribute in the backyard to Kerry for their two children, Caitlin and Lachlan, to remember her by.

No sooner had Jodie & Soda heard this work began.

All last week friends of the Jodie & Soda show have generously provided over $50,000 of goods and services, with businesses and tradies working hard together to make a beautiful garden and Kerry’s dream kitchen come together for the big reveal on Friday.
