Moffee with coffee in Moff’s Harbour: 2000 shows for Triple M’s Michael ‘Moffee’ Moffett

With all Triple M microphones turned off today, Monday July 1, in support of men’s mental health, for their sixth No Talk Day, alongside that timely reminder to check in with yourself, and your mates, at Triple M Coffs Harbour Michael ‘Moffee’ Moffett has been doing exactly that, on breakfast, since 2015.

It’s not every radio announcer that sees their 2000th show acknowledged by Russell Crowe and a phone call from NSW Premier Chris Minns.

In the lead-up to show 2000, Moffee, his listeners and the community reflected on some of the highlights of Moffee in the Morning, including Moffee’s broadcast from London, raising more than $250,000 for the Coffs Harbour Children’s Ward, announcing Elton John would be performing in Coffs Harbour and plenty of laughs along the way. The milestone show was broadcast live and included a $2000 listener prize giveaway.

Moffee has won five ACRA awards including last year’s ‘Individual Talent of the Year—Country’.

He said:

“I love radio, but I also love how we can help out in the community, ruffle feathers if needed, and give people a laugh along the way. We are so lucky to live in paradise every day, and I get to watch the sun come up over there every single day!”

SCA Head of Regional Content, Blair Woodcock, said:

“Moffee is one of the most motivated and selfless Breakfast announcers, and he has been since he stepped into the role 2000 shows ago! Moffee is your one-stop shop for all things Coffs Coast. His incredible connection with his listeners is consistently reflected in his impressive ratings.

One of the very best in creating an entertaining and engaging local show for listeners, Moffee has become a bona fide star in ‘Moffs Harbour. Congratulations Moffee – here’s to many more shows, more laughs, and more good times as you’ve done since your first show.”

And New South Wales Premier Chris Minns also said:

“I just wanted to call through and wish you the best for 2000 shows, what an achievement! You must be tired (laughs). You’re in a beautiful part of the world. Regional media is so important – you’re giving local messages to the community about what’s happening in town, it’s so, so crucial. Here’s to another 2000!”
