Monty Dimond replaces Chrissie Swan for maternity leave

Chrissie Swan will hand over the microphone at Mix101.1 in Melbourne to Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond this Friday, as she prepares for the birth of her third child this month.  Monty will join Jane Hall and anchor Jamie Row as a temporary co-host of the breakfast show until Chrissie returns from maternity leave.

Swan “can’t believe the time has come already to put my feet up for a few days and wait for baby number 3 to arrive. I also can’t wait to share the news of the birth with our Mix listeners. Not long now! Jamie and Jane are like family to me so I will miss them terribly during my maternity leave but I am THRILLED that they will get to play with Monty while I’m wiping bottoms, snatching naps and juggling midnight feeds!”

Monty says: “I’m so excited to join Jane on breakfast while Chrissie is on maternity leave. As a mum of a young son, I’m used to getting up at a ridiculously early hour so I know I’ll be up and at ‘em when my alarm goes off at 4am!  It’s such a special time for Chrissie; I’ll be sure to keep the seat warm for her return’.

Monty is known in Melbourne for her honest, fresh opinions and sense of fun. She has appeared as a guest on well-known TV shows, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, The Project and The Circle. From March 20th she joins new ABC1 Panel show Tractor Monkeys every Wednesday as a team captain alongside Dave O’Neil.  She is also co-founder of a new web venture aimed at women called Show and Tell.

Monty is no stranger to radio, having co-hosted some of Australia’s most popular national and metro shows with the likes of Ryan Shelton, Ryan Fitzgerald and Wippa before hosting her own national weekly show.
