Collingwood great Nathan Buckley has extended his commitment to SEN, signing for a further two years with the network.
Buckley will continue to be heard between 6 and 9 am each Monday morning on SEN during the next two footy seasons. He will also remain alongside Gerard Whateley each Tuesday morning from 9 am during ‘Whateley’.
Buckley said he had embraced radio over the season and was excited to continue.
“I’ve really enjoyed 2022 with SEN and working alongside some of the most experienced and respected media personalities in the game,” Buckley said.
“Mornings with Garry and with Gerard have been enlightening and absorbing. I’ve learned a lot.
“I believe anyone with a media platform carries a great deal of responsibility. Providing context underneath the headline is crucial in a longer-form setting and bringing this perspective to the passionate listeners of SEN has been a privilege I have enjoyed.
“In the coming years, I hope to continue to provide this perspective and prosecute the headline or opinion that can quite quickly ignore the reality underneath….”
SEN Chief Executive Officer Craig Hutchison said Buckley’s commitment is a great result for the SEN audience.
“Bucks made an immediate impact on SEN within his first year, and we are rapt we get to build on that for the years ahead,” Hutchison said.
“While Nathan’s credentials speak for themselves, it’s his difference and unique football and sport perspective – combined with an increased quest to reveal more of himself and share his own journey – which has really connected with our audiences around the country.
“We are delighted to extend together and make Monday mornings the must-listen-to environment in AFL football.”
