NBN live read ads pulled from 2GB

In the latest round of trouble over live read ads for the NBN, as reported first here on radioinfo, the National Broadband Network has pulled its ads from 2GB after several presenters refused to read them or topped and tailed the ads with negative remarks about the government broadband initiative.

Alan Jones has refused to read the ads, and other presenters issued disclaimers before the ads, saying the adds did not reflect their personal views.

A spokesperson for NBN Co told the Sydney Morning Herald: “We did not believe the reads in their existing slots would be read straight or without misinterpretation.”
