Nearly $2 million already raised for i98FM’s Illawarra Convoy

The 2023 i98FM Illawarra Convoy is on this Sunday November 19, but already $1.9 million has been raised by the Lead Truck Auction.

Funds raised go to the Illawarra Community Foundation with Menai Haulage donated $300,001 and making this the second year in a row that they will lead the truck convoy with Nate Deushain up front, who is currently battling Leukaemia. Coles, for the third straight year, topped the Lead Motorbike bids, which raised $252,000.

The total amount so far from this year’s auctions is $ $1,913,167.22 and brings the total amount raised from the i98FM Illawarra Convoy over the past nineteen years to $23,534,649.58.

This Sunday’s 2023 i98FM Illawarra Convoy will be the first time in four years that the event will be back in its full capacity (with the free Family Fun Day), after being affected by COVID-19 and severe weather conditions the last few years. The Convoy will depart under police escort from South 32’s West Cliff Colliery on Appin Road around 8:15am.

Ricki-Lee, Thirsty Merc and local acts will perform at this year’s Family Fun Day and i98FM will be broadcasting the event live from 6am. The Illawarra Community Foundation has provided financial assistance to over 500 families affected by life threatening illnesses throughout the Illawarra and South Coast and has also contributed over $4.3 million to the recently completed Wollongong Hospital’s Children’s Ward redevelopment.
