New audio imaging for triple j?

After two weeks filling in on triple j breakfast, Bryce Mills and Ebony Boadu reckon they know what the ABC’s youth network needs to give it a fresh new image… new show promos.

“We feel like the station needs just a bit more oomph…” explained Ebs, as she and Bryce played Dave, Lucy and Avani a taste of the the proposed commercial sounding audio rebrand.

What did they think?

“There’s a lot of sexual undertones in it,” said Dave, who finally ended up feeling the vibe after hearing it a few times. “I’m kinda feeling it… it’s sexy!”

They asked Hack’s Avani Dias if she ever feels like she slam dunked the talent. Of course she does. So the promo highlights that. “Shots fired! You really thought Avani wouldn’t dunk on you… Think again, yeah.”

Avani’s response? “Stick to your kind of radio and  I’ll stick to mine.”

Is it all just part of a secret agenda for cost cutting during the ABC’s period of budget cuts, with announcers making thier own promos?

No word from management on whether the new sound will ever make it to air.
