Steve “Millsy” Mills and Karl Langdon will take the reins of the 6PR Breakfast show, starting Monday November 21 on the Nine Radio station.
They replace Gareth Parker, who has moved across to Nine’s tv operation.
Mills will move from his Afternoon timeslot into Breakfast and team up with Langdon, who will move from the new Wide World of Sports program.
The duo will bring audiences the latest news, interviews and stories that matter most to Perth, combined with a sense sense of fun and entertainment.
Millsy, who has been with the station for more than 18 years and previously did breakfast, is looking forward to returning to his old timeslot.
“I’m excited to be back on Breakfast, with my good mate Karl, waking up Perth!… Life can be challenging for many at present, but our focus will be providing inspiration to start everyone’s day on the right foot.
“Throw in some laughs and the latest news, and 6PR Brekky with us will definitely get Perth talking,” says Millsy.
West Coast Premiership champion Langdon, a sports commentator and broadcaster with more than 27 years at the station, is excited by the opportunity. “I’m looking forward to setting the early wake-up call to work alongside Millsy. I’ve admired and respected him since the moment he joined 6PR and to work alongside him will be fun.”
6PR content manager Emily White says listeners are in for a real treat with the new show. “These two lovable larrikins will keep you across everything that’s happening in Perth: the latest news, traffic, sport and weather, plus your favourite segments like the Rumour File and $1000 minute will continue.”
An announcement for the new host of the Afternoon program will be made soon.
