The ABA is proposing to make channel capacity available on FM 105.5 in Roxby Downs on FM 104.5 at Coober Pedy Area School for a Coober Pedy community radio service.

Dusty Radio, which is currently operating under a temporary community broadcasting licence at Coober Pedy, has expressed interest in providing a community radio service in the Coober Pedy area.

5Rox Community Radio, which is currently operating under a temporary community broadcasting licence at Roxby Downs, has expressed interest in providing a community radio service in the Roxby Downs area.

The proposals are contained in a draft licence area plan for community radio services in Roxby Downs and Coober Pedy, South Australia, but before it reaches a final decision the ABA is interested in receiving comments on the proposals to make channel capacity available for community radio services in Coober Pedy and Roxby Downs.

Community radio licences will be allocated via a merit-based allocation process.
