GSL Media has appointed Carla Vella to the role of Managing Director of SEA and MIXX FM on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.

Vella has an extensive media background, having held senior leadership roles with SCA Media and, more recently, Cartology.

She is also a Sunshine Coast local and will hit the ground running when she commences her new role with the group this Monday, January 20.

GSL Chair Rhys Holleran has told radioinfo: “I am thrilled that Carla has accepted the position. I have worked with Carla for many years prior to this and I know she is the perfect fit for our company. She has a strong sales background and understands commercial radio. She will lead this talented team well.”

Vella considers it her dream job because “it’s based in the greatest place on earth to live and involves one of my great passions, radio.”

Vella, whose leadership style is grounded in a people-first philosophy, has previously held executive roles with some of Australia’s top media organisations, across audio, television, Out-of-Home and digital platforms.

In recent years, GSL acquired EON Broadcasting Pty Ltd, owner and operator of 91.9 SEA FM and 92.7 MIX FM through its subsidiary Sunshine Coast Broadcasters Pty Ltd.
