New Snowy managers after tragedy

Richard Wybrew has been appointed Station Manager of Snowy Mountains 2XL and 97.7 Snow FM.

Radio Snowy Mountains Pty Ltd has made the announcement after last month’s tragic death of Brad Miller in a car accident. Miller had been Manager for seven years.

Wybrew had been Assistant Manager – a position which has been filled by Damien Willoughby, who continues as Program Manager.

Radio Snowy Mountains’ Chairman, Kevin Blyton, says he is delighted with the appointments.

“Richard has been a key member of our group for over nine years and his appointment is consistent with our policy of, where possible, promoting from within the organisation.

“For this appointment to be filled by someone already holding a senior position at Snowy Mountains 2XL and 97.7 Snow FM is even better.”

Wybrew has been Assistant Manager for seven years and, previously, was a sales’ representative with 2XL for two years.

He will work out of the 2XL broadcast centre in Cooma and the new Snow FM centre in Jindabyne.

On Damien Willoughby’s appointment, Blyton says: “This is also very pleasing, as Damien has worked extremely hard in recent years with the stations and this new role will enable him to grow his management skill further within the group.”

Willoughby has been with Radio Snowy Mountains for more than four years and, in 2003, was named Program Director of the year in regional Australia at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).

He will be based in Jindabyne.

Snowy Mountains 2XL and 97.7 Snow FM2XL/SNOW FM are part of Capital Radio Network Pty Ltd, which also owns 2CA/2CC Canberra, 6IX Perth (in a joint venture with Grant Broadcasters) and 2GN/Eagle FM Goulburn.
