New voice on 4BC Breakfast no stranger to Brisbane listeners

Skippen to replace Peter Dick as temporary co-host on 4BC breakfast.

Brisbane’s News Talk 4BC has today announced that Ian Skippen will co-host the week day Breakfast show until the end of 2013. Ian’s temporary appointment as Breakfast co-host follows the previously announced resignation of Peter Dick due to health reasons.

General Manager of News Talk 4BC, Anthony Frangi has said: “4BC is replacing one strong announcer with another. When Peter announced his resignation, we needed a strong local talent to fill the position until Christmas.”

News Talk 4BC’s Breakfast show, currently co-hosted by Kim Mothershaw and Mary Collier, will change with the arrival of Ian Skippen. Kim Mothershaw is set to be leaving the show this Friday 30th August to pursue other commitments. Ian Skippen will join Mary Collier in the studio from this Monday 2nd September.

In relation to the change, Anthony Frangi said: “Over the past three months, our listeners have embraced Kim, due to his unique humour and ability to relate to the audience in a News Talk format. Ian has a strong record in commercial media, and his story-telling and communication skills will mesh well with co-host Mary Collier’s style.”

4BC says it’s vital that anyone behind the microphone has an intimate knowledge of Brisbane which is what led the station to approach Ian Skippen for the co-host role. News Talk 4BC has said it is currently in the process of recruiting a permanent presenter to co-host Breakfast, beginning in January 2014.
