New York Festivals lifetime achievment award to go to the National Press Club

New York Festivals will honour the American National Press Club with a Lifetime Achievement Award on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the inaugural NYF Storytellers gala taking place at NAB Show in Las Vegas. 
 
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes prominent industry leaders and driving forces in the broadcast industry whose accomplishment have advanced their field and made a lasting impression on the industry. 
 
VP/Executive Director of NYF’s TV & Film Awards/Radio Awards, Rose Anderson, says, “For over a century, the National Press Club has upheld responsible journalism, supported freedom of the press world-wide, and provided a forum for the exchange of substantive ideas in our Nation’s Capital.
 
“Their members’ commitment to excellence encompasses all media. In this year marking the centennial of radio and our inaugural Storyteller’s gala, we are proud to honour this organisation with the New York Festivals Lifetime Achievement Award.”
 
Michael Freedman, President of the National Press Club will accept the award and says, “The National Press Club serves as a beacon for press freedom and an indispensable platform to educate, inspire, empower and protect our nation’s premier storytellers.
 
“Our goal, always, is to be accurate and fair and this honor from the New York Festivals will go a long way in helping all who cherish freedom to better understand why journalism matters. On behalf of our three thousand members around the world, we offer heartfelt thanks and a pledge to stay the course in search of light.”
