GfK’s New Zealand commercial radio survey, its first of 2023, has Newstalk ZB dominating the 13 markets surveyed. This is the 15th consecutive year that NZME’s Newstalk has retained top spot. Music station The Breeze continued its small downward trend but stayed the second most listened to for all ages 10+.
Just under 3.4 million Kiwis are tuning into commercial radio each week, with The Rock seeing healthy increases in the 18 – 54 age groups.
MediaWorks, owner of The Rock, The Breeze and the next two top rating stations leade the overall radio market with a 51.5 share, but through Newtalk ZB, NZME moved up to a 38.1 share.
