Nova 100’s Hughesy and Kate spent this morning on a tram. Nova has not cut back on vehicles or car spaces, it was an outside broadcast. The Nova tram travelled on the free City Circle route, from Latrobe St, along Harbour Esplanade, Flinders St and Spring st, picking up guests and passengers throughout the morning.  

Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle was one of the special guests on the Melbourne rattler as it circled the city during morning peak hour. Also on the tram were Go The Tan participant Glenn Archer, My Kitchen Rules Victorian contestants Emily and Carly Cheung.

Brynne Edelsten also jumped aboard to judge Hughesy and Kate’s Punching Above Your Weight competition.  

Hughesy said: “I’ve performed on planes, boats and now a tram. I’m sure it will go down as high point in my career.”

Program Directors are always encouraging their on air personalities to understand what listeners are doing during their shift. This OB would certainly have brought that point home to the Nova breakfast team.
