Nicko moves to mornings

Long time radio legend Ian “Nicko” Nicholls has taken up the role of host of KLFM’s Morning programs.
 
After retiring for a short time in 2009, Nicko returned to the KLFM Airwaves in 2015 initially anchoring Local News.
 
This week, Nicko took up the role of KLFM’s Weekday Mornings Host from 9 till Midday.
 
He says “after 60 years in the business, hosting the Weekday morning show is something I’ve always wanted to do in my long career”.
 
KLFM General Manager Brad Geier says “it is wonderful to have such an experienced and well know personality like Nicko in the morning shift”.
 
Nicko started his radio career in 1954 at 2LF in young, before moving to Melbourne in 1956 and working for great stations such us 3DB –LK, 3AK, 3XY, 3AW and the ABC to name a few.
 
When asked about his new role as Morning Host, he said “It’s great to be at a station like KLFM which is like being in the old days of radio, where the announcers had personality and a direct connection with their listeners”.  

He said that the Morning show will feature the best in music from the 50’s to the 70’s with some talk on Local issues.

Nicko can be heard from 9am Weekdays on KLFM which also streams via the website klfm.com.au or on the Tune In app. Local listeners can tune to 96.5 or 106.3 FM.
