No Laws at 2GB

2GB’s holiday understudy Ben Fordham fell foul of management this morning when he invited former 2UE rival John Laws on to the morning show for an interview.

Even though some time has now passed since Laws was up against the 2GB morning show, apparently management still is not taking any chances and did not want the voice of the former radio king to be heard on the station that is now home to Alan Jones and Ray Hadley.

They pulled the plug on Fordham’s plans, forcing him to make an apology to listeners who may have been anticipating the pre-promoted interview with Laws. He had to tell them he had not checked with management first before planning the interview.

Ironically, Fordham was interviewed on 2UE’s last Steve Price show a few weeks earlier with apparently no similar objections from the 2UE management.

Steve Price is believed to be intending to join John Singleton’s new Melbourne station, but cannot say so publicly until the three month non-compete period in his contract expires in February. Expect something official then.
