Never mind the Venga bus … get ready for a special live broadcast from the Nova bus.
This Friday, Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren, along with co-host Clint Stanaway, are ditching the studio and boarding the 734 – the iconic Melbourne bus route that defined Lauren and Clint’s high school days.
The trip will give the Nova 100 brekky team the chance to connect with their loyal listeners.
Lauren Phillips, who attended Wesley College, recently revisited her old stomping ground and was hit with a wave of nostalgia as she stood outside her childhood home.
Reliving her teen years sparked a big idea: Why not actually do the bus route, on air?
Clint, who went to Glen Waverley Secondary College, was immediately on board, especially since the 734 bus was a daily staple of his school years too.
And while Jase Hawkins may not have grown up on the same route (Brisbane was a little far from the 734!), he’s not about to miss out on the chaos … or the comfort of a window seat.
Today, the team announced the route:
- Starting near Glen Waverly Station
- Glen Waverly High where Clint went to school
- Wesley College where Lauren went to school
- Ashburton Woolworths where Clint worked as a teenager
- Passing coffee shops and food joints that were staples for them growing up
Listeners can expect bus-stop singalongs, surprise guests, throwback stories and maybe even a cheeky schoolyard confession or two.
