Nova introduces new networked Drive show for 2009

With the departure of Akmal Saleh last week, signaling the end of The Wrong Way Home show, Nova announced it would be going in a different direction for 2009 with
Ryan, Monty and Wippa taking over the Drive slot nationally from 4 to 6pm.

For the past year Nova listeners have got to know Ryan and Monty from their national
Saturday morning show. Adding to the creative duo Michael Wipfli aka Wippa. The team has been good friends and colleagues for over four years.

Ryan Shelton says, “We just really felt that there was a big gap in the market for a daily radio show hosted by two guys and a girl who talk and laugh about topical and relatable issues. I mean seriously, name one person who’s tried that in radio before?”

Katie Dimond aka Monty says, “I’m so excited to be doing a show with two of my good mates. I loved working with Ryan on Saturdays so to do a show five days a week with him and have Wippa in the mix is going to be brilliant. I will now have two people to boss around.”

Two years as host of 92.9’s Perth breakfast show Em, Wippa & Ollie will equip Wippa
when he teams up with good mates’ Ryan and Monty to entertain Australia as they drive
home.

Wippa who has spent the past two year with Em on Perth’s 92.9 says, “Working with Ryan and Monty will be like Find My Family without Jack Thompson and probably with a few more tears.”

Ryan Shelton is a regular on Rove and wrote and co-starred in Real Stories on Channel
Ten while Monty got her in start in radio co-hosting the breakfast
show on Star FM in Albury for fourteen months before teaming up with Ryan at Nova in
2008 to host their own show.

Dean Buchanan dmg Radio Group Program Director says, “We are thrilled that we’ll
have an on air team that will hit the ground running. Ryan, Monty and Wippa will be a
brand new way to drive home and listeners will find a unique and exciting sound.”

Ryan, Monty and Wippa’s first day on air will be Monday, 19 January 2009 on Nova 100
FM (Melbourne), Nova 969 (Sydney), Nova 919 (Adelaide), Nova 106.9 (Brisbane) and
Nova 937 (Perth).
