KIIS 106.5‘s Kyle and Jackie O still have the most listeners and smooth 95.3 the most for a station overall, despite losses for both in GfK Radio 360 Survey 4, 2024. The Nova Network will be particularly happy however, with the performances on breakfast of Nova 100‘s Jase and Lauren in Melbourne and Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie (pictured) on Nova 96.9 in Sydney adding 86,000 more listeners between them, and the network overall the most listened to during that time period across the country and all the metros with 2,274,000 cumulatively.
The more than 150K gap between Kyle and Jackie O in Sydney and Jase and Lauren in Melbourne last survey has dwindled to less than 50,000.
Station cumulative listening dropped for all the top six stations, although smooth 91.5 Melbourne and Nova 100’s were small rather than significant, as were KIIS 101.1‘s gains in Melbourne. Nova 96.9 saw the biggest cumulative gains overall to accompany their growth in breakfast. B105 had a blinder in Brisbane, consolidating its spot as No 1 station, ABC Sydney continued its forward momentum and 105.1 Triple M Melbourne will also be happy, but need to rebuild from here with Marty Sheargold (whose breakfast show saw significant gains too) now having departed the station.
Sydney listening appeared quite volatile this survey. 2GB, Nova 96.9 and the ABC all saw significant gains for their stations and breakfast shows but smooth, WSFM, Triple M and especially KIIS and 2Day FM saw more than 50K cumulative losses which will be of concern to ARN and SCA respectively.
Nova Brisbane and Nova Perth were the most listened to stations outside of Sydney and Melbourne, with Brisbane’s B105 right behind. Perth’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun on Nova 93.7 and Mix 94.5‘s Pete and Kymba and B105’s Stav Abbie and Matt and Ash, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill on Nova 106.9 Brisbane all have listening numbers some Melb and Syd stations would be thrilled with.
