Nova pops up Maroon Radio for Wednesday’s decider

They’re a parochial bunch in Queensland. They have not one, but two one eyed , single hued radio stations barracking for their side in the NRL State of Origin decider on Wednesday night. First there was indigenous radio 98.9 FM that took on the partisan mantle by calling itself Radio Maroon. As of now, Nova has given over one of its digital channels to footy fever and called it Maroon Radio.

Not content to preach to the converted in Queensland, Nova’s Maroon Radio will broadcast loud and proud throughout Australia.

“Like all Queenslanders, everyone at Nova is pumped for the awesome spectacle that is State of Origin,” Nova 106.9FM breakfasts host and Nova’s Maroon Radio spokesperson,” David “Luttsy” Lutteral said.

The dedicated radio station will feature commentary from Nova 106.9FM’s breakfast team, Ash, Kip and Luttsy, local sporting identities, messages of support from the general public; all backed by an appropriate  soundtrack of big hits.

The Queensland players have thrown their support behind Nova’s Maroon Radio and have submitted their personal playlists.
