Nova’s Ben & Liam pay homage to Adelaide with the Icons Mural

Nova 919’s Ben & Liam officially launched their SA Icons Mural this morning with the assistance of the SA Premier, Peter Malinauskas, to cut the ribbon.

This was another bucket list moment for Ben & Liam, who commissioned local artist Mike Sander to create a mural that would pay homage to the iconic people, places and things that make South Australia great.

The mural features a number of South Australian icons, the Farmer’s Union Iced Coffee, the Big Rocking Horse, the Scottie statute, the Malls Balls and the Pigeon, great giant panda’s Wang and Funi and much more.

In addition, the mural features two of South Australia’s most iconic personalities, Channel Seven newsreader Jane Doyle (pictured with Ben & Liam) and Olympic Gold Medallist Kyle Chalmers.

Having grown up in the area, Ben Harvey says, “Liam and both I grew up in the Northern Suburbs – I was in Two Wells and Liam in Golden Grove. I used to go there multiple times a week and spent so much time at the centre that I couldn’t think of a better spot for our Adelaide Icons Mural.”

Liam Stapleton says, “People from Adelaide are so passionate about the icons and people that make our state great. We’re so thrilled to have helped create something that South Australians can come and visit and enjoy.”

The Adelaide Icons Mural is located on the eastern wall of the Elizabeth City Centre.
