Online job ads booming

Classified job advertising is deserting newspapers and going to the net, according to new statistics released by mycareer.com. The radioinfo site is one certainly one example of that.

Since radioinfo began, it has seen a steady growth in niche job advertising for the radio sector while, at the same time, newspaper ads for radio jobs have steeply declined.

For mycareer.com, a widely targeted job site, the 04/05 year has seen a growth boom in the number of jobseekers and advertisers turning to mycareer.com.au, which confirms the trend spotted by radioinfo.

Mycareer smashed monthly Unique Browser (UB) records for five consecutive months in 2005 and applications jumped by 45% in the past year.

MyCareer says advertisers are also following the trend, with the number of job ads on the site growing by 38% in the past year (figures from Nielsen NetRatings).
