PBS FM has a new GM

After an extensive recruitment process spanning continents and skillsets far and wide, PBS FM has a new General Manager, Kristen Paterson.

Kristen was instrumental in founding VBC 88.3fm radio in Aotearoa New Zealand and currently leads Wellington Access Radio where she has been Station Manager for the past 7 years.

PBS Chair, Jurgen Schaub, says, “Kristen will be stepping into some big shoes left by our previous General Manager, Adrian Basso. Adrian held the reigns at PBS for fifteen years and we’re confident that Kristen will build on the significant legacy left by Adrian, supported by a fantastic staff team and a thoroughly engaged volunteer community.

“Kristen brings international experience, passion for music and commitment to independent voices to the role and we’re looking forward to entering the next phase of PBS’ story in our new home under Kristen’s leadership.”

Kristen will be relocating to Melbourne in the coming weeks and will join the PBS team from Monday 22nd August and says, “While music is clearly PBS’ heartbeat, it became clear to me through the recruitment process that it’s the people that make it pump.

“I can’t wait to get over to Collingwood Yards and connect with the community of passionate music lovers that I absolutely relate to. The General Manager position at PBS FM is simultaneously prestigious and grassroots and clearly a leading role in the community media sector. I’m honoured to be offered the role and can’t wait to get amongst it.”
