Perth market expecting shakeup

Southern Cross Broadcasting’s Managing Director Tony Bell told shareholders at the company’s Annual General Meeting that 96FM Perth is expecting to be “hurt” by the introduction of DMG’s new Perth station, which will launch soon.

But there was a bright side in the annual report as well – the company’s other Perth station 6PR is expecting to “benefit” from the fragmentation which will occur in the music station market after DMG’s launch.

Southern Cross expects good revenue growth in the coming year, led by its regional TV stations, which are enjoying good ratings through their association with recent successful TEN programming.
